Monochromatic Silhouette Paintings
6th grade lesson overview:
In this lesson I taught students about monochromatic colors and how to create different tints and shades. In this lesson the students learned that tints are created by adding white to a color and that shades are created by adding black to a color.

Objectives:
1) Through a PowerPoint presentation on monochromatic colors, students will correctly explain the difference between a tint and shade.
2) After a demonstration on how to paint tints and shades onto a color scale by using black and white, students will successfully create a painting of a landscape incorporating a monochromatic color scale.
