About Me
I have always had a passion for the arts. Growing up I was constantly creating and working on projects. I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in the arts, but it was not until I was in high school when I discovered I wanted to become an art educator. My high school art teachers were passionate about their work and driven to help their students go above and beyond. The experiences I received in those classes were ones that I knew I had to share with future students. As an art educator I feel privileged to share my love for the arts with students and help them develop an appreciation for the field.
I graduated Magnum Cum Laude from Northern Illinois University in 2015 with an Art and Design Education degree. Since graduating I have been continuously working in the school system. I have held a position as a drawing teacher, ceramics teacher, photography teacher, paraprofessional, and librarian. In May 2021, I received a master's degree in art and design education from Northern Illinois University. I graduated with Summa Cum Laude and I became a member of the honor society Phi Kappa Phi.
Recently traveling has become a large part of my life, after moving internationally. I have gained many life skills in through the years that I have lived overseas. One of my goals in life is to see the world and experience other cultures. Traveling is a passion of mine and I strive to tie my international experiences into the classroom. I feel that promoting travel is important for children to be exposed to and I enjoy teaching about these experiences through art. I believe that it is a fundamental experience that allows one to broaden their horizons. Learning about new cultures can help educate students about history and art while opening their minds and helping them to further understand the world around them.
Teaching internationally has allowed me to combine my passions of exploring other cultures and art education. Many times I go outside of my comfort zone and gain experiences that I can teach in the classroom. I educate my students about different forms of artwork around the world.

I am very passionate about traveling and believe that educating students about different countries is crucial. Many people do not take the opportunity to see the world and experience new places. Students should be educated about the world and other cultures. This allows them to become socially and globally aware, as well as agents for change.
