Lesson overview:
Coil pots is a simple process of layering coils and other shapes. It is a process that is versatile and it is great for beginners! This is a lesson that helps improve the clay craftsmanship for students. For this lesson the students have to make a coil pot that includes both smooth coils and exposed coils.

Objectives:
1) Through a PowerPoint presentation of the coiling technique, students will understand that coiling is a technique used for hand building clay sculptures.
2) Given a demonstration on creating a coil pot, students will artistically produce a clay pot using the coiling technique.
