Cross-curricular Lessons
Through cross-curricular lessons, students are able to make connections from other subject areas in the art room. Students may build on prior knowledge through creative and critical thinking. To create these lessons, I meet with teachers from different departments, such as math, science, social studies, library, music, and english. The collaborative art lessons help students develop transferable problem solving skills. Below are examples of cross-curricular art lessons that I taught in elementary, middle, and high school.
